Capital Dialogue

‘Capital Dialogue’ is a special series of townhall-style interactions hosted by The Sunday Guardian Foundation. The series has been launched inspired-by and in-tribute-to the historic inaugural of India’s New Parliament Building to celebrate the 75th year of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

The series involves interactive audience-led conversations with Ministers, Constitutional post holders and policy makers. The uniqueness of the event is in the curation of the guest with the right audience, generally 75-100 people. The audience consists of CEOs, Public Policy leads, economists, field specialists and entrepreneurs. Those with direct stakeholding, knowledge-of and interest-in the chief guests area of responsibility.

The first pilot interaction was hosted at the India International Centre in New Delhi with Mr. Rajeev Chandrashekhar, Union Minister for Skill Development, Electronics and IT. The area of coverage was ‘Digital India, 5G and Semiconductors’. The audience consisted of senior management from major companies like Make My Trip, Tech Mahindra, telecom associations, electronics payments giants, heads of component and semiconductor manufacturing companies, industry association leads and business journalists.

The objective is not just to create a televised event, but to provide stakeholders an opportunity to interact with the chief guest, both on and off camera and over a cup of tea. This creates a stakeholder-townhall logic and a great opportunity for networking both amongst the high-profile stakeholders .

The Capital Dialogue then serves five main goals; 1 – to create a televised forum for public awareness on key policy matters; 2 – to provide an opportunity to senior stakeholders to meet and interact with their respective policy-makers, 3 – to provide the policy maker a chance to field question, comments and ideas on current policy matter, 4 – to systematically create a community of high-impact individuals, forums and companies to partner with us in the media so we can all work as Team India on important issues and 5 – give the chief guest a chance to express her/his position and priority.
